\"invisible-man\"<\/a>I have just run some more workshops for church\u00a0administrators.<\/p>\n

One of the many things we talked about was the invisibility of the role.\u00a0 When everything goes well, they all told me that nobody notices what they do, or often notices them.\u00a0 However, when there is a ‘typo’ in the news sheet or someone did not know what they thought they ought to know when they thought they ought to know it, then that changes.<\/p>\n

Not that they were complaining you understand, but it prompted me to ask how often we remember to praise those invisible people in our organisations?\u00a0Those who are\u00a0rarely, if ever, involved in the ‘up front’ stuff, but whose roles and functions are none the less vital to what we do.<\/p>\n

The trouble is, because they are so often invisible, it is all too easy to forget to notice them, until, that is, something goes wrong.<\/p>\n

So today, how about making a list of those who may fit in that category in your church or organisation and remember to thank them, but perhaps not too publicly.\u00a0 The administrators I worked with seemed to think that flowers or chocolates would be nice!<\/p>\n
