Walking on the beach and calling it work.

I love the beach.  Whatever the season I find it one of the most relaxing places to be and I know, from the many people who I see there, that I am not alone.

For me it is a great ‘thinking place’ with ideas or solutions seeming to come more easily during a long walk by the sea on a blustery winters day, or a gentle stroll along the sand on a sunlit summer’s evening.

Sounds idyllic, but isn’t that just for holidays? We can often feel guilty if we take time away from the immediate pressures and demands of the ‘day job’ to spend time just thinking and processing, but such time can be some of the most productive, in terms of the longer term plans and developments for your organisation.

My encouragement is that whether as teams or individuals, you regularly schedule in time away; giving yourselves the space to consider the bigger picture or look for solutions to the knottier problems your organisation faces.

If you need someone to help you or your organisation as you do that, please contact me, particularly if it involves a seaside location!
